Ie Naki Ko= Remi is a young boy that's sold to a traveling entertainer, he now begins his life as a slave. You know immediately as you sit down to watch this it's going to be full of hardship and sadness. This anime is brilliantly directed by the great Osamu Dezaki, he allows the classic novel this is based on to be fully realised as an anime adaptation. It's a terrific sombre journey, recommend to fans of The Rose of Versailles and Romeo no Aoi Sora.
